Resolutions

Late 80’s

Sitting at her desk, Charlene Mason looked at the paper in front of her and the list of resolutions she’d made for the New Year. Sighing, she added one more and then laid down her pen. Counting five resolutions this year, she was satisfied and expected she’d be able to keep the first three without any trouble. The last two would be a little more daunting, especially that last one, but she was determined that this time, this year, she was going to swear off her worst habits.

Pushing back her chair, she stood and carried the list to her bookcase and chose that one special book where she always put her resolutions and slipped it between the pages with all the other lists she’d done over the years. Satisfied, she strode back into her bedroom and dressed for work.

Tight t-shirt, equally tight jean shorts and black leather boots that stopped mid-thigh along with a jaunty black leather forage hat perched on top of long black hair and she was ready for her job as a waitress in the local bar. Not that the owner required she dress like that, but it did bring in better tips. Heading out the door, she straddled her Harley and kick started the engine. It wasn’t necessary, hell, she had a push button start on the bike, but she enjoyed the fact she could kick start it and it tended to blow the minds of people that saw her do it. Roaring down the highway towards her job, she reveled in the feel of the wind on her face and the lingering scent of fresh mown grass in the summer evening. Parking her bike in front of the bar, she carefully locked it and then pulled the leather thong that she wore to protect her ponytail off and brushed out her hair. Stowing the thong and her jacket she’d worn only for the ride in her saddlebags. She smiled to herself that this was the first time in months that she’d ridden to work and it felt good to feel the vibrations between her thighs again. Being only 5’3” tall and weighing a slight 120 pounds, riding the heavy Low Rider wasn’t the first thing anyone ever expected of her. Slightly built, although she did have an impressive set of breasts, Charlene didn’t look like your typical biker chick.

Breezing through the door she smiled and greeted the regulars. Hearing the familiar “Hey, Charlie” back was always welcome, especially in light of the fact she lived alone and had few friends in town. Grabbing her apron, Charlene, Charlie to her friends and customers, started her shift on a positive note. Pretty much the crowd tonight consisted of the regulars, mostly old-timers and the local drunks, there were a few that she didn’t recognize, a normal occurrence for any night. As was her habit, she got a handful of quarters and fed them into the jukebox, picking a wide range of music before she started waiting tables.

Hot, tired and thirsty, Jon and his friends decided to stop at the little bar on their way through town. It wasn’t much of a town and not one of them expected it to be much of a bar, after riding for three hundred miles they were all saddle sore and tired of eating dirt on the highways. Four kickstands went down and four guys dismounted from their bikes. Stretching while they removed their gloves and helmets, they chatted and laughed.

It was a far cry from Jon’s regular gig, the last couple years had been crazy and he needed a break. Riding across the country with a bunch of guys was his kind of therapy. Some towns they’d ride in and be welcomed, others they couldn’t wait to get out of town. Joking that he expected this to be one of those, Kevin bet that they’d be gone within the hour, Jon’s gut told him that Kevin would lose this one and took the bet.

Minutes later the four of them entered the little bar and stood in the doorway waiting for their eyes to adjust, as they did all they could hear was the strains of an old Hank Williams, Jr. song singing about lost love. The rest of the bar was dead silent.

‘Great’ Jon thought, ‘there goes the Franklin I bet Kevin’. His thirst was greater than the ill-ease he felt from the eyes on them. ‘Hell, I’ve had larger audiences that never made me feel like this’. Tossing a glance over at Danny, he headed for an empty table; at least they could get a drink and maybe have something to eat before they rode on to the next town.

Charlene saw them come in. Four men, one short fat guy that was a little creepy, one that was big, muscular and exuded menace in the way he stood, a guy that seemed to be along for the evening and the one that was definitely the leader. He was the one that caught her eye. Not a tall man, but almost pretty in a hot, sexy kind of way, tight jeans, a vest and a bandana holding back masses of streaky blond, long hair waving across his shoulders and down his back. The kind of man that made her mouth water and had that list of resolutions pop into her head unbidden. Cursing to herself about making those resolutions, she plastered on a smile and approached the table where they’d now settled.

“Hi, I’m Charlie, what can I get for you tonight?” expecting the response that every man seemed to think was originally his, she was surprised when all she got were orders for four beers and a plate of nachos. Spinning on her heel, she returned to the bar and placed the order for nachos, while pouring the beers herself. Watching in the mirror, she saw the pack leader head for the john along with the big guy. It occurred to her they might be gay, then blew that thought off immediately. She wasn’t going to allow herself to think that about the man with blue, blue eyes that sparkled up at her when she was taking their orders.

Returning to the table with the tray of beer, she placed one in front of each of the two remaining at the table and the other two in front of the empty seats. She caught the name of the balding, fat guy, it was Doc and the one she figured was just along for the ride was named Danny. Neither of them said anything about their two buddies, so they were still a mystery. Hearing that the nachos were ready, she went to the bar to retrieve them and by that time the good looking guy and his friend were back.

“Here you go. Anything else you need, just call for me.” Looking straight at the pretty boy, she hoped he might say something, anything.

“Thank you. We’ll be sure to do that, Charlie.”

He spoke! A voice that was a cross between gravel and whisky roughened with a touch of smooth that gave her shivers. Smiling sweetly she lowered her tray and sashayed over to the table of old-timers that were beckoning. To hell with those resolutions, he was far too hot to ignore. Writing down the order, she concentrated on the familiar to avoid fantasizing about the man with the beautiful smile and a mat of fur on his chest.

“Hey, Jonny, she’s sweet on you,” laughing, Danny teased his lifelong buddy about the cute little waitress that seemed to be oblivious of who was sitting at her table.

“Fuck you, she’s just trying for a bigger tip.” Tossing back the beer, Jon had one eye on the mirror behind Danny watching the lovely set of hips that were moving alluringly as she swayed to the music playing on the jukebox, to his surprise, he recognized Poison’s ‘Every Rose Has a Thorn’. That she turned him on was an understatement. The others were teasing him about fucking his way across the country, and they did have a point. He’d already done a half dozen girls and they’d only been on the road for little more than a week.

Right, bigger tip or a piece of rock star cock?” Leering at the waitress, Doc wished he could attract them like his friend and client, he’d certainly do her if she was willing. This ride across the country was a crazy idea, but if Jon wanted to stay in dives, eat at greasy spoons and spend a month crisscrossing the country on a Harley to get back to where he felt better about himself, so be it.

“Shut the hell up, Doc.” Frowning, Jon munched on a couple nachos and thought about how he was going to hook up with the waitress without getting shit from the other guys. Forming a plan, he dug into the food and decided it would be a good idea to find out if she was attached or even interested in him. Standing abruptly, he grabbed the empty plate and walked over to where Charlene was talking at the bar. “Excuse me, Charlie, could we get another plate of nachos?”

His eyes asked far more than about nachos and Charlene swallowed hard against the flutters in her stomach. ‘Remember those resolutions.’ Biting back an obscenity at herself, she smiled seductively, she hoped it was anyway, “certainly.” Calling across the bar to the cook, she got that going and stayed right where she was, inhaling the smell of leather and man. “So where are you from or should I be asking where you’re headed?”

His eyes twinkled, “out East and out West. Anyone tell you that you have a pretty smile?” Celebrating in his head that she had no clue who he was.

Rolling her eyes, she laughed a soft, tinkling sound, “could you get any more vague?”

He couldn’t help himself, “probably, but then that would require I not speak at all. How about Jersey and California?”

“See, was that so hard?”

Biting back the comment that almost crossed his lips, Jon offered, “no, I guess not. Is there a motel somewhere along this road? We were hoping we’d find somewhere we could stop for the night soon.”

“There’s the Rest Inn about five miles up that way and the Twilight Motel two miles to the west. I wouldn’t stay there, but it’s a bed and it’d be cheap.” She didn’t want to tell him that the Twilight was rumored to be infested with bedbugs, not with its owner sitting at the end of the bar.

“Thanks. So what do you and your boyfriend do when you’re not working?” He hadn’t seen much else to do and hoped the comment would get him some answers.

Shaking her head, her long black hair flowed around her like a cloud of satin. “I don’t have a boyfriend and when I’m not working here, I’m down at the local Wal-Mart working there.”

“Oh.”

Just then the nachos arrived and she handed them to him. “Here you go.”

Taking the hint, he accepted the plate and returned to the table. Finishing off their food, the four of them played a couple games of pool and drank a few more beers while Jon continued flirting with the waitress that spent a good deal of time criticizing their ability with a pool stick.

Finally, they paid the bill, thanked her for her service and remounted their bikes. He wasn’t convinced that she was as happy to see them leave as Kevin seemed to think. He wasn’t arguing though, the motel wasn’t that far out of town and she did say she got off at midnight.

Pleased with herself that she’d kept all five of her resolutions, Charlene worked the rest of her shift fantasizing about the blond guy named Jon with a dazzling smile and beautifully expressive blue eyes. Once the bar was closed and she was done cleaning up, she pulled her hair back in a ponytail and stepped outside in the crisp night air.

The streetlights gave off an almost eerie glow over the empty street, empty she realized except for her bike and one other whose rider was stretched out with his feet on the handlebars and his arms folded behind him. A leather jacket hung from the sissy bar.

For a minute she hesitated. Five resolutions. She’d only made them that morning. The first one, she was going to go to church every Sunday. That one wasn’t in jeopardy. The second, she’d send money home to her mother every payday. No problems there. The third, she was going to stay sober and stay out of jail. So far so good. Number four, she wouldn’t pick up men at the bar. From the itch inside her and the beckoning look on his face, that one was in serious trouble already. Number five, no more bikers. Swallowing, she took one step towards her bike and then walked straight over to him. “Your place or mine?”

To hell with resolutions, he was hot and she was horny, it wasn’t like she couldn’t start observing the resolutions tomorrow. She didn’t get a chance to fuck a Harley riding rock star every day. Not that she’d ever tell Jon Bon Jovi that she recognized him the moment he’d smiled at her in the bar.

His grin matched the dancing wickedness in his eyes. “Yours, mine wouldn’t be all that private.”

Stepping closer, she could almost smell the hunger rolling off him, yep, resolutions start after she was done with him. “Ah,” her fingers trailed down his bare arm braced behind his head, “so was it the Twilight or the Rest Inn?”

Inhaling sharply at the sensations spiking wherever she touched, “the Rest Inn, we got it on good authority the Twilight had bed bugs.” Uncrossing his ankles on the handlebars, he dropped his legs and swung around to capture her before she had a chance to back up.

Startled, she squeaked before she found herself wrapped in the unmistakable scent of man and muscle. “Good choice.”

Not interested in further conversation, Jon’s head dipped and captured her mouth as he had her body, groaning when it opened willingly beneath his lips. The kiss deepened, their tongues tangling as the heat between them rose and the world comprised of only the two of them. Gasping for breath, he broke away, his eyes glazed over with lust looking into hers and seeing a matching intensity. Lowering his head again, he sipped lightly as he fought to regain control. “I think we should go before we get arrested for public indecency.”

Struggling to regain her composure after the man kissed her stupid, Charlene could only nod. Gazing into those blue eyes she knew she’d be lost if he kissed her again here in the parking lot. Taking a deep breath, she pushed off from him. “You’re dangerous. I could break all my resolutions before the night’s over if you keep it up.”

“We can only try.” Grinning, he stepped towards her again.

“No, no, no, not here.” Striding to her bike, she withdrew her hair thong, snapped it in place and pulled on her jacket.

Jon was stunned. “That’s your bike?”

“Yeah, what you think you’re the only one that can ride?”

“No, but I...” he stood speechless as she slid one leg over the seat, righted the bike and stroked down hard on the kicker. Two strokes later and the bike roared to life, smiling sweetly while her eyes belied that sweetness with the devil lurking behind them, she yelled over the rumble of the engine. “You coming or are you going to just stand there with your mouth open?” Revving the engine, she kicked up the stand and turned the bike for the road, not waiting for Jon to get back to his bike. Laughing, she roared out of the parking lot and down the road watching in her rear view mirror to see if he’d follow. Hoping he’d follow.

Cursing at empty air, Jon grabbed his jacket and pulled it on, there wasn’t time to try the kick start of his bike, so he punched the button while keeping his eyes on the receding red taillight vanishing in the distance. Turning his bike, he gunned it and raced into the night after the woman full of surprises. He’d not anticipated her bold ‘your place or mine’, he never expected the heat in their kisses and his wildest dreams never envisioned her wheeling the big, heavy bike as if it was a tricycle.

It took a bit to catch up, but when he did they raced side by side down the open highway, glorying in the joy of riding full throttle down the road, not another vehicle as far as the eye could see. The stars overhead and the moon their only streetlight. It was exhilarating and reminded Jon of the joys of life, what he’d forgotten about in the stress and insanity of what his life had become.

Finally, Charlene slowed down to take a curve and doubled back on a parallel road, she was ready to take this to the next level. Jon followed suit and within minutes they were riding full out again, pointing at the sky when one saw a shooting star or laughing at a joke one would yell at the other over the thunder of their Harleys. Motioning to slow down, Charlene brought them down to a crawl before she turned down a dirt road that led to her place. It wasn’t much of a house, but it was hers and nobody could tell her what to do on her property. Pulling into the yard, she wheeled the bike towards the back and came to a stop in front of her barn. Switching off the engine, she dismounted after putting the kickstand back down and opened the barn doors, returning to her bike and rolling it inside.

Jon followed suit. He didn’t quite know why they didn’t just ride them into the barn, but he was good with rolling it in.

Both bikes stowed, she turned on him and flattened both hands against his chest. “Now, where were we?”

He wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her against him, the scent of fresh hay mixed with the night air was intoxicating. Bending down to kiss her, he promptly lost himself in her mouth, it was sweet, hot and inviting. His fingers found the edge of her t-shirt and slid inside. The cool of his hands made her skin feel that much hotter, pushing the shirt up as he explored, Jon found his brain wasn’t functioning, it was reacting.

Charlie’s fingers inched up to his shoulders and pushed his jacket down and off. Her mouth never leaving his and shivering slightly as he exposed her bare skin to the cool night air. Feeling her nipples pucker in the cold when her shirt hit the floor along with her jacket. Delving deeper into his mouth, the fire inside her was howling for release, it didn’t matter that they were standing in the doorway of the barn, nobody was around to watch. Stripping off his shirt, she tossed it behind her not caring where it landed either.

Sweating from the desire she was stoking, Jon pulled her hard against him, his mouth trailing kisses across her cheek, to her ear and behind to the sensitive pressure point, her moans urging him on. One hand snaked between them, caressing her breast and sensitizing her nipple until it was a hard pebble, then dipping his head to taste.

Throwing her head back, Charlie whimpered hungrily, her hands buried in his hair holding him to her. Screaming when he nipped and then alternately laved and sucked. she ached to feel him inside her, deep inside pounding until they both were spent. She tried to lead him towards the house, but he balked and held his ground, torturing her breasts with his talented, hungry mouth.

Fumbling with the button of her shorts, Jon was desperate to get them off. It took a bit of effort without raising his head from her tits, but he managed and shoved them down her slender legs and over those black boots of hers. She obligingly stepped out of them and he unzipped his own pants and withdrew his throbbing cock.

Vaguely aware of what was about to happen, Charlie wrapped her hand around him, stroking and squeezing just right, exactly as her old boyfriend taught her. The growl at the base of his throat told her she was getting to him. Before he could stop her, she lowered herself in front of him and took the thick rod into her mouth.

Jon hissed at the hot, wet heat surrounding his cock. Jeez, he almost believed he’d died and gone to heaven. Then she moved on him and he pressed her head against him, forcing her to take more. She did without complaint and had him at the edge within moments, then she pulled away and stood grinning.

“You want more? You gotta come get it.” Running into the barn, she threw herself onto a fresh pile of hay and waited.

Cursing the pain of his need, Jon followed, none too gently he threw her legs up into the air and rammed into her, telling himself to apologize later. Her fingernails dug into his back, she urged him on, begging for more, deeper, harder, screaming as she flew over the edge and down into sweet oblivion, calling his name as she went.

Gasping, Jon settled his weight on top of her, spent and unable to move. It had be a fast, intense fuck and he wasn’t capable of anything further. Both of them slipped into a hard, deep sleep right there in the barn.

Hours later they moved to the house, repeating the scenario before showering and then taking it slower and easier for the next couple of rounds. By the time the sun was up, they were both spent and smiling in their sleep.

Charlene roused first, looking at the clock and groaning. It was already 8:30. Rising from the rumpled bed with the sated man sprawled across it, she padded into the kitchen and started coffee and then stepped into the shower to clean up. Once she was done, she poured two cups of coffee and took them into the bedroom.

“Time to get up sleeping beauty.” She gently pushed on his shoulder.

Grumbling about being awakened, Jon cracked open one eye. “What?”

“Here’s some coffee. Time to rise and shine.” Already dressed, her hair done and make up on, Charlene grinned at the scruffy man and could only dream of what it might be like to wake to him every day. That wasn’t her life though, so he needed to get moving.

“Why?” Less than thrilled by her cheerful tone.

“You have friends waiting at your motel and I have to go to work.” Hopping off the edge of the bed, she started straightening up.

Grunting, Jon gratefully drank the hot, black brew and blanched at the sound of someone calling to her from the front of the house.

“Be right back.” Blowing him a kiss she rid herself of her friend that wanted to know if she needed a ride to work before returning to the bedroom to find Jon up and zipping his jeans. The bedroom door was partially closed making her wince. Watching him dress, she pushed it wide open again, the grin that she couldn’t erase wreathing her face in joy. “I had a wonderful evening.”

“Me too.” Dressed, his boots back on, Jon followed her out of the bedroom, down the hall and to the back of the house to the barn and his bike. “Thanks. If I’m ever...”

Her finger shushed him. “You won’t be, so don’t say it.”

Pulling his bike out of the barn, he started the engine to let it warm. Walking to her he took her into his arms one more time and kissed her thoroughly. “I only have one question.”

Looking up at him, her eyes twinkling, “what’s that?”

“When did you recognize me?”

Grinning widely, she answered, “the minute you flashed that smile at me.”

Cupping her face in his hands, he kissed her once more before saddling up and riding away.

Standing alone in her yard, she sighed, “yep, it was worth breaking my resolutions to have a one night stand with him.” Re-entering her house, she went into her room to retrieve her purse and closed the door to stare at the poster there for a moment before leaving for work. She laughed hard when she saw he’d personalized it for her, it read “thanks for the ride of my life. Jon”
